CHARCOAL EXPERIENCE

As an exploration in using a variety of media for art the Room 9 team used charcoal. Most had never used charcoal before so we spent the afternoon experimenting with different techniques. A lot of fun and very messy .

PAINTING FRIENDSHIP ROCKS

We created some beautiful rocks for our class entrance. These will be made into stepping stones for outside our room. Awesome work!

WEAVING

We made some weaving art as a symbol of how we are all different but when we work in together we can create something beautiful. This was integrated with our learning our the Treaty of Waitangi (He Tiriti o Waitangi).

CLASS TREATY

As a class, we discussed how we want our classroom to be so that we can all optimise our learning. We talked about respect for each other, caring for ourselves and each other and our responsibilities as a team. When we all agreed on our class rules we signed our agreement or treaty. This is a document that we made together so that our classroom is a safe and happy environment.
